— Interview in Art Scene Magazine by writer Vincent Gotti
This is such a powerful question. I’ve already witnessed collectors moved to tears—some because they reconnect with a joyful memory or recognize the spirit of a loved one who has passed. Others feel a sense of rebirth or the simple, overwhelming need to immerse themselves in beauty during a morning coffee ritual.
What I hope my collectors experience is the sense that the art-work is alive—a being charged with energy, worthy of care, presence, and conversation. A piece they can commune with, observe at different hours of the day, and rediscover again and again. It won’t appear the same in candlelight at night as it does in the soft morning sun. It won’t resonate the same after a phone call at work or after an intimate moment of love.
The artwork becomes a companion—supportive, present, and sacred. It can spark conversations, hold space, and evolve. Like a pearl born from the ocean, it transforms with time. Living with an artwork, for me, is like living with a soul. I want my pieces to honor people’s intimacy, to be a form of wild love—maybe even a coup de foudre. And perhaps, over time, their placement within the home should shift so that the energy they carry can be renewed and reborn.
My greatest wish is that the artwork evolve alongside its col-lector. As we go through life—grief, new beginnings, transformations—the piece lives those stages with us. And if one day, it no longer resonates, then perhaps it’s time for the piece to continue its path elsewhere. Like any deep relationship, sometimes the journey together has reached its conclusions. Art is made to be shared, to grow in value, and to travel with grace. I believe my art can guide us—and sometimes, we must guide the artwork to where it’s meant to be next.
