First Solo Exhibition: “L’Ange Rouge” (2022)
On the night of a red full moon, May 16, I presented my first solo exhibition, a transformative journey that marked my evolution from self-portraiture to a collaborative artistic exploration. The project invited during two months 20 models of diverse bodies—men, women, couples, and LGBTQ+ participants—to embody their energy, guided by meditation and a personal letter of transformation from past to present-future. Each work was a unique 1/1 piece, signed and offered as a gesture of gratitude, celebrating the presence and vulnerability of each participant.
The night was an immersive, multisensory experience. Guests explored works printed on various mediums—metallic paper, aluminum, canvas, and fine art paper—with framing options ranging from floating to frameless, all thoughtfully curated to explore spatial relationships and energy in the exhibition. The evening blended performance, dance, and the gathering of artistic energy between the artist and participants. More than 150 people attended, experiencing a space of intimacy and reflection, where each body was celebrated and recognized.
Conceptually, the exhibition explored the meeting between the other and the artist, highlighting the impact of artistic collaboration on mental health and emotional well-being. Symbolism was central: the red moon, the Angel within us, the divine spark, bloodlines, passion, and self-love all infused the works with layered meaning.
The opening was held at Maison Boire, a space steeped in warmth and indulgence—red velvet ambiance, sparkling wine, unlimited bites, oyster and charcuterie bars, fine cheeses, even fires in the wood-fired kitchen (now Michelin-selected). Every detail, every hospitality gesture, was covered personally by me, creating a night of abundance, transformation, and connection.
This intense full moon night marked the beginning of my journey with others, expanding my practice into shared energy, relational creation, and the collective experience of art.
Un merci très spécial à Émilie Ouellet pour avoir photographier la soirée.
